Ground Intercept Team + ASOC training

Detection finds the drone. Your team has to find the pilot.

Three days of training for state, local, tribal and territorial law enforcement. Your Aviation Security Operations Center and your ground teams learn to locate drone operators, make lawful contact and document every step under Part 124.

One response, two teams

The hand-off is where it works or falls apart.

Sensors find the drone. Someone still has to reach the pilot, handle the contact the right way and document it so it holds up. That takes an ops center and ground teams that have trained together on one incident number, one dispatch card and one radio plan.

01 · ASOC

Detect

Sensors pick up the drone and its Remote ID broadcast.

02 · ASOC

Triage

The crew makes and documents the credible-threat call, then dispatches.

03 · GIT

Intercept

The ground team locates the operator and makes safe, lawful contact.

04 · Both

Document

Warning record, evidence, confiscation or referral, and federal reporting.

How the three days run

Day one is fully joint: the threat, legal authorities, the detection picture and the hand-off between the ASOC and the field. Day two splits into the GIT and ASOC tracks. Day three brings both teams back together for a field exercise on the equipment you deploy, run from the ASOC seat to the street and back.

The two tracks

Each team learns its job, then they run it together.

GIT track

Ground Intercept Team

  • Locate the pilot from Remote ID, RF and overwatch drones
  • Plan a safe approach in urban, venue and open terrain

  • Respond to grounded and suspicious drones

ASOC track

Aviation Security Operations Center

  • Site sensors and run the common operating picture
  • Correlate Remote ID, radar and RF tracks

Event CUAS planning

Threat assessment, sensor siting, coverage plans and Operations Plan preparation.

ASOC stand-up

Positions, workflows, comms plan and coordination with the lead federal agency.

Pre-event exercise

A full ASOC and GIT rehearsal on your equipment before the gates open.

On-site advisory support

Experienced advisors in your ASOC through event day, plus the after-action review.

Who teaches it

Instructors who worked GIT and ASOC operations, most recently at FIFA World Cup 2026.

GIT track: current and former law enforcement officers

Our GIT instructors have done ground intercept work in real-world CUAS operations, most recently at FIFA World Cup 2026.

ASOC track: Justin Adams

Managed the Aviation Security Operations Center for Houston's FIFA World Cup 2026 CUAS program and Houston's FEMA CUAS grant.

Our instructors hold operator certifications on several commercial CUAS systems.

Grant funding

Write training into your CUAS grant application.

Scenario-based training and tabletop exercises are allowable costs under the FEMA CUAS Grant Program. We managed a FEMA CUAS grant and will help you write the training line of your investment justification.

FAQ

Questions we hear.

Who should attend?

Your Aviation Security Operations Center crew, Ground Intercept Teams and the dispatch and supervisory staff who connect them. The course is built for state, local, tribal and territorial law enforcement.

Is this equipment training?

No. Your vendor trains your operators on each system. This course trains the response around the equipment: detection, triage, dispatch, contact and documentation.

Where is the course held?

At your agency, so day three can run on the equipment you deploy and the ground you cover.

How do our teams keep the skills between courses?

With Promachos, which lets every seat practice the same incident any day, and with evaluated exercises.

Can grant funds pay for it?

Scenario-based training and tabletop exercises are allowable costs under the FEMA CUAS Grant Program. We will help you write the training line of your application.
